A hanging planter is a must have accessory for plant collectors. They are a wonderful space-saving solution when you run out of room on your floor, window sills, and tables. Hanging planters are a great way to make sure you are making the most of your window real estate because we know plants crave light. I just bought a load of philodendrons, and I have a toddler, so I have been in the market for some new indoor hanging planters. I found such a great variety I wanted to share them here.

Leather Plant Hanger

The leather plant hanger has simple clean lines. It’s a great modern hanging planter. Many hanging planters come with tassels, braiding, or beads so if you’re looking for something different, this is it. It's just the hanger, so you have to supply a pot for this hanging planter, but I like that that gives you the opportunity to make it your own. It also gives you the flexibility to have a wide range of pot sizes. This hanging planter fits pots from 4 inches to 12 inches in diameter. That means even if you have to up pot your plant eventually, this hanging planter will still work for you in the future.

Seagrass Hanging Planter Pack

This is a great value for three hanging planters. The seagrass hanging planter pack comes with three sizes. The large is 10.2 inches in diameter, the medium is 8.7, and the small is 7, which are all fairly large which makes this an even better deal. What I like about these is that you don’t need to repot pot your plant. If you just brought a new plant home, you could just keep it in the black nursery pot and stick it straight into these hanging planters. The second thing I love about this set is that they are plastic lined, which effectively works as a built-in drip tray, a very convenient feature for a hanging planter. You won't have to worry about water or soil dripping out.

Circular Plant Shelf

This indoor plant hanger gives you options. The circular plant shelf is 13 inches in diameter and comes in many different wood tones to go with your décor. The shelf itself has a nice lip around the edge to keep things from slipping off. This is a great plant hanging option because you can fit more than one plant on it. If you're looking for a large hanging planter this is a good option. I bet you could fit one big plant like a Boston Fern no problem. No need to worry about repotting anything, just place your existing plant pot on this shelf and you're good to go.

Hanging Rope Planter

This is another great deal for two hanging rope planters. There are a dozen color combinations to choose from as well. You’re sure to find something that fits your taste. These rope baskets have been pretty popular as plant holders lately, I'm only now seeing them as hanging baskets. It’s a great idea. The beauty of these plant hangers is that you don’t need a fancy pot. This is a great option if you have a new plant from the nursery in its black pot, you can stick it straight inside this rope planter. Take note though, you will need to stick a drip tray in the bottom of the rope planters or you will risk staining it when the water drains from your plant pot.

Ceramic Hanging Planter

A two for one solution for those who are low on space. This ceramic hanging planter stacks two plant pots vertically allowing you to use your space more economically. The beautiful white ceramic pots are 9 inches in diameter and 4 inches high, so a little shallow, but should be fine for most plants. You will need to repot your plants into this hanging planter, but the good news is that it has drainage holes that you can plug. Drainage is a must for healthy plants and the plugs help keep the water and soil mess at bay.

Hanging Plant Shelf

A configurable option are these hanging plant shelves. They come packaged with two shelves that you can configure as two individual shelves or stacked on top of one another as a two shelve hanging planter. The ability to configure it to your own space is a really neat idea. If you aren’t into mild DIY, then maybe skip this option because you do have to put it together. The wooden shelves also come in a variety of colors as well. The shelves measure 17 inches long and 5 inches wide. You won't be able to fit large plants on this shelf. It will work best with smaller plant pots, but at least they are long enough to fit multiple plants.

Tension Hanging Plant Holder

If you’re in an apartment or don’t want to make holes in your walls this is your solution. This tension hanging plant holder is a great space-saving option too. While it might not be quite as aesthetically pleasing as the other options, once you fill it with plants you won’t even notice. It comes with four trays that you can set plant pots on and one hanging arm that you can place a hanging planter from. The trays and arms are adjustable up, down, and 360 degrees so you can configure them to fit your plants perfectly. The trays are a little over six inches, so that does limit the size of pot you can place on them.
