Where To Find The Hospital (And More)

The Sims includes a lot of hidden lots that can easily be overlooked and are hard to find. This includes all the new career lots that came with Sims 4 Get to Work. These lots are not connected to any worlds that you can travel to. If you have been trying to find Willow Creek Hospital, this article will help clarify how you can get to the hospital.

The hospital is in civic center neighborhood of Willow Creek that you cannot travel to using usual methods, your sim will need to have some reason to travel to the hospital, by either having a baby or working as a doctor. This article will go over how to get to the hospital, what you can do at the hospital, and even how to edit the hospital lot.

Sims 4 Get to Work

The Sims 4 Get to Work expansion pack added many new interactive careers and new experiences you can enjoy with your sims. With the Get to Work expansion you can join your sims at their job, they can join multiple new professions including the Doctor, Scientist, or Detective. You can also purchase and run a retail lot and sell items your sims create or collect.

Not only can you go to work with your sims now, you also get the chance to interact with new civic center lots that are not available in the base game. The civic center lots are lots that you cannot go visit while you travel, but you will load into when you go to work or need to go to the hospital for any reason.

How to get to the hospital

The hospital including in the game is on its own lot and is known as the "Willow Creek Hospital." If you go to Willow Creek looking for the hospital you will not find it, the hospital is one of the civic center lots that exist in the game but cannot be seen from the world view. If you are trying to get to the hospital you can't just select travel and then go on over to the hospital lot. You need to have an interaction that requires you to go to the hospital in order to travel there.

When do you need to go to the hospital

There are a few reasons your sims may need to go to the hospital. Either they choose to have their baby at the hospital or your sim chooses to pursue the doctor career. There are a few mods you can add to your game that add more interactions to your game play and use the hospital lot more than with the original Get to Work expansion.

Having a baby

Sims go into labor after about three in-game days of being pregnant. Once your sim goes into labor you can choose whether to have your baby at home or at the hospital. If you want to go to the hospital you want to select your sim who is in labor and then click on "Have baby at hospital."

Once you choose to have baby at hospital you can choose to either join your sim or send them alone. If you join your sim you will enter into a loading screen and end up at the Willow Creek Hospital. Once you show up to the Hospital you will need to check into the hospital and then follow the event prompts at the top left of your screen.

Hospital Mod

The Sims 4 Get to Work expansion pack focused more on the careers rather than the using the new career lots in every day life. While your sims can get sick without mods they are limited to only purchasing medicine through the computer or phone which will almost instantly cure your sim.

This mod not only allows you to go to the Hospital as a patient, but it adds a lot of new elements that makes the Sims more realistic. This mod allows sick sims to get others around them sick, and your sims will experience everyday health conditions such as back pain, poor vision, allergies, and much more.

You can choose to download the My Health mod individually or download the Slice of Life Mod which includes multiple mods that aim to make the sims seem more realistic.

Doctor Career

The hospital is where you will go if you choose to play through the Doctor Career path. When you play with the interactive careers that are included with Sims 4 Get to Work, you can choose to join your sim on and play through their work days. Don't worry though, you don't have to commit to going to work with them every day, you can also choose to send them alone and they will go off to work like they would with any other career.

You will start out as a medical intern and can advance through ten different levels of the career. As a doctor you see patients every day, take x-rays, deliver babies, and performing surgeries. When you first start out your sim will take on sims with mild sickness and have to take care of a lot of house keeping around of the hospital. As you advance in the career you get to take on more severe illnesses and perform serious surgeries.

If you have Sims 4 University you can also choose to get a degree before starting your career as a doctor. Having a degree will allow you to skip a few levels of the career and give you a boost in pay. You can learn how to enroll in university here.

How to edit the Willow Creek Hospital

The Willow Creek Hospital has everything you need to be a functional hospital; however, it does lack a lot of personality and personal aesthetic. Normally when you go to the hospital you cannot build on the lot and you will see the build/buy menu is grayed out and it does not allow you to edit the lot.

You can easily get around this using the free build cheat. To use Cheats in the Sims 4 hold down Ctrl+Shift+C for windows or Command (⌘)+Shift+C for Mac at the same time and a small bar will appear at the top left hand corner of the screen where you can type.

Once you open the cheat bar you need to type in bb.enablefreebuild followed by the enter key. When you now go to the build/buy menu button you will see that it is no longer grayed out. You can now edit Willow Creek Hospital as much as you like.
