Money Trees (How to Find and Grow Them)

There are many unique ways sims can make money, they can get a job, work odd jobs, sell things they create, or grow money on trees. The Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack added the money tree to the game, and is a fun way to enjoy gardening while making lots of money from a single tree.

Money trees are grown from the money fruit which can be found in the Reward Store, on the Debug menu, or through Dumpster Diving. Money trees grow just like normal trees in the game and the amount you make increase as the quality of your money tree increases. This article will go through everything you need to know on how to find money fruit and get the most out of your money plants.

How to get a money fruit.

Money trees are included with the Sims 4 Seasons expansion pack. They grow from money fruit which are a rare seed that your sim can obtain in few different ways. You can get them in the reward store, in the debug menu, or dumpster diving.

Reward Store

The Money Fruit can be purchased for 5,000 Satisfaction Points in the Reward Store. Satisfaction Points are the points you receive by completing Aspirations, Scenarios, and Wants. You can also gain Satisfaction Points by successfully completing holidays, staying in haunted houses, and interacting with pets.

Once you receive 5,000 Satisfaction points you can go into the Reward Store by opening your sim's aspiration tab, and then clicking on the reward store button at the bottom of the menu. Once you open the reward store you should have the option to purchase a Money Tree.

Once you purchase the Money Tree you will find a Money Fruit in your Sim's Inventory and you can plant it like a normal tree. Once your money tree matures you can start selling the money fruit from anywhere from $8,000 to $22,000 depending on the quality of your tree.

Debug

You can find Money Fruit in the build/buy menu by unlocking hidden objects known as Debug. These are objects that the sims creators use to put in the worlds, items you unlock, or items that you see sims using during certain animations but are unavailable in the regular build/buy mode.

You can unlock these Debug items by using cheats. To use Cheats in the Sims 4 hold down Ctrl+Shift+C for windows or Command (⌘)+Shift+C for Mac at the same time and a small bar will appear at the top left hand corner of the screen where you can type. Once the cheat bar is open you want to type in bb.showhiddenobjects followed by the enter key.

To find the Debug items you will want to go to the buy menu and search "Debug," you will now have access to items you did not have access to before including the the Money Fruit. Unfortunately the Debug menu is not well organized and you can't type "Money Fruit" into the search bar to find it. You will need to scroll through and look for the money fruit. Dumpster Diving

If you have both the Sims 4 Seasons and Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion packs, you can find money fruit through the dumpster diving interaction. Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle introduced upcycling and the ability to go through the trash to find hidden treasures.

To start dumpster diving you need to find a lot that has a dumpster, you can find some around Evergreen Harbor, or you can add them to residential and community lots in build/buy mode. Once you find a dumpster, you should have the option to either Dive for Deals, Drive for Ingredients, Dive for Meals or Nap in the Dumpster. To find a money fruit you need to select the Dive for Ingredients, or Dive for Meals interactions to have a chance to walk away with a money fruit.

How to grow a money tree.

Money trees are no different than any normal tree in the game. They are rarer than most trees because the money fruit are harder to come by. Money trees take between five and seven days to fully mature, and for you to start seeing a harvest. How to get endless money fruit.

When you go to harvest your money trees you only have the option to sell, you don't have the ability to harvest the money fruit to plant more money trees. However, if you graft a money tree onto another fruit tree you then have the ability to harvest money fruit and grow as many money trees as you want.

Grafting consists of taking a cutting of one plant or tree and grafting it onto another plant or tree to create a completely new type of tree. If you want the ability to harvest money fruit that you can plant to grow more trees, you need to follow these steps:

1. Take a cutting from a mature money tree
2. Grow another fruit tree such as an apple tree or cherry tree
3. Graft the money tree shoot onto a mature fruit tree
4. Wait for the new Spliced Plant to mature
5. Harvest from the new Spliced Plant. (You will start to see money fruit appear in your inventory)

Once you have the new Spliced Plant that starts giving you money fruit you can plant as many money trees as you want. You really only need one of these Spliced Plants but you can create more than one if you want to also sell the money fruit on the side. One money fruit can go anywhere from $1,600 to $4,400.

How much money do money trees make?

The amount your money tree makes depends on the quality of your money tree. Plants can go through five different evolutions in the game. They will start out as normal quality, and then move onto Nice, Excellent, Magnificent, and Perfect quality.

To enhance the quality of your plants you will need to consistently take care of your plants and fertilize them when you have the chance. Do keep in mind that not all fertilizers are the same, which is why I wrote this article that goes through all the different types of fertilizers and which ones work the best.

As the quality of your money tree improves the amount you earn each day goes up.

If you don't want to wait around for your plants to slowly mature and increase in quality you can easily manipulate your plants and make them perfect quality in one day using testing cheats. To use Cheats in the Sims 4 hold down Ctrl+Shift+C for windows or Command (⌘)+Shift+C for Mac at the same time and a small bar will appear at the top left hand corner of the screen where you can type.

You then want to type in Testingcheats true into the cheat bar followed by the enter key. Once you enable testing cheats you then want to hold down the shift key and click on your Money Tree at the same time. You will see a new menu with different options available. You want to select "Set Gardening State" and then "Plant Evolution." A small menu with four different option will appear. Select the last one "Ready to Evolve." Your plant will now be ready to evolve into the next state.

When plants are ready to evolve you will see a slight glow to them. You can select the plant and then select "evolve." You will see a small animation after selecting evolve. If you hover over the plant afterwards you will see that the quality of your plant has improved.
